Suryavamsam is a Tamil soap opera, which was broadcast on Zee Tamil at 7:00PM (Monday- Saturday) from 21st September 2020. It stars Nikitha Rajesh, Aashish Chakravarthi and Poornima Bhagyaraj in lead roles. It is an official remake of Telugu serial America Ammayi.

Story

America Ammayi is a story about a girl, Samantha (Nikitha Rajesh), born and brought up in America and values Indian traditions and culture. Her mother was disowned by her parents after she chooses to marry an American against their wishes. Over the years, she falls ill and wishes to reunite with her family. So, Samantha takes it upon herself to bring the family together. She enters her grandparents' house and before convincing them to accept their daughter, she falls in love with her maternal uncle's son, Surya (Aashish Chakravarthi), while helping her cousin(Padmavathi) to get married to her loved one. After Padmavathi's marriage surya and Samantha get engaged but a new character named (unknown) who also loves surya enters there after the story is about how surya and samantha overcome from new character and get married. But here there is a twist in the story again as their marriage stops in between due to a photo which shows samantha's father killing their grandfather which is not true. From here everyone is against Samantha even her love surya. the story after this is how Samantha proves that there is no mistake of her father and at the end everything is out and Samantha and surya get married, Samantha's father is recognised as a good person and Samantha's mom and her grandmother (Poornima Bhagyaraj) get united. All the family is happy.
